Here are a few brief facts about me:

  • I hold MA in Cultural Studies with specialisation in Theatre Theory from the University of Lodz, Poland;
  • I am a regular contributor of the highly regarded Polish art magazine Didaskalia - gazeta teatralna;.
  • I have a range of publications in my fields of expertise (Anthropology, Theatre, Visual Arts, Popular Culture, Literature).
  • I have spent significant portions of my life in both Portuguese and English speaking countries: 4 years in Brazil and 5 years in Ireland. At the moment I reside in London, United Kingdom.

Immediately after graduation, I spent four years in Brazil, gaining proficiency in the Portuguese language. The extensive research in the local culture which I undertook during my stay in the land of samba, capoeira and bossa-nova resulted in a number of feature texts and translation works published in the Polish cultural press. Beside popularising Brazilian culture in Poland, I was involved in various activities aimed at promotion of the non-Latin cultural heritage in Brazil, including writing the introduction to the first Brazilian edition of the juvenile classic Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery for the Martins Fontes publishing house from São Paulo.

Afterwards, I lived in Italy and Ireland. Presently, I am based in London, United Kingdom. During the recent years, I have translated an English language play for a respected mainstream theatre in Warsaw, worked as an assistant responsible for managing correspondence between the organisers of a Polish art festival and their Brazilian partners, prepared a series of academic translations on theatre and dance and co-authored Polish version of an American guide to the Asperger's sindrome.
